注：本文由中国百货商业协会译自NRF(美国零售商联盟NRF.com)，原文标题：Top 100 Retailers 2021 List，是对2020年美国零售商的排名。NRF美国百强零售商排行榜是根据销售额对零售业内最大的公司进行排名。
前100名零售商按过去52/53周的年度零售销售额排名。用于排名的销售额基本上都是仅限于在美国的零售业务，如有例外，会提供脚注。
为了得出零售商在美国的零售销售数据，结合公开披露的信息，同时应用了各种估计方法。因此，所提供的数字并不总是与公司的官方公开的报告相符。
除非另有说明，否则列表中将删除非零售运营部门的公司收入。当零售商运营特许经营时，需提供全系统的销售数据。根据前几年采用的方法，排名中排除了为以汽油/加油站为主要业务的公司。
本名单的评选标准是基于Kantar 的零售IQ 综合研究方法，包括分析零售商业务覆盖的深度和宽度。
另外，前几年的排名中包括了部分连锁餐厅，今年的百强榜单不再包括。
中国百货商业协会在编译此文中，根据以往资料将排名前30的企业2018年数据进行了对比，发现有以下两个特点：
一是美国零售商的排名比较稳定。相隔2年，前十名没有变化，只是排序略有不同。前三十名中，只有三家退出，新进入三家为连锁药妆店Rite Aid（2018年为31位）、会员店BJ's Wholesale Club（2018年为34位）、宠物连锁店PetSmart（2018年为56位）。
二是总销售额仍然保持较高增速。以口径一致的前十名为例，2020年销售总体和平均增幅均为20%，如果考虑去年疫情的影响，这一增幅比例是比较高的，同期中国百强零售企业的增幅也是在20%多一点。
